About Us

The Visalia Fox Theatre is the area’s premier destination for arts & cultural entertainment since 1930. A designated 501(c)3 non-profit, it is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, Visalian Friends of the Fox Theatre.

The theatre first opened its doors in February 1930. The theatre was built by William Fox of Fox West Coast Theatres and designed by Los Angeles architects Floyd Stanbery and Clifford Balch. The theatre has an East Indian Theme inside, including a giant genie that is above the proscenium arch and to the sides of the stage are temple pagodas. Above the theatre floor is painted a gorgeous blue to represent the evening sky with twinkling lights.
